Midwest Electronic Music Festival Done and Over

Well the MEMS festival is done and over with. I had a really great time and loved meeting all of the other artists. The jam session went great and I think people had a great time trying out new gear and experimenting with hardware if they never had before. I know I enjoyed playing with an Elektron Monomachine.

All of the artists were great. Each brought a unique and different sound, as well as playing style.
Big props goes out to Scott Kellogg aka. Glaive for actually walking the walk and setting up this LivePA meet up.

I have just posted some photos of the event in my photoblog to the right. Video clips and audio recordings of the event will be up shortly. So stick around.

Music to whet your appetite

Yes that is the correct spelling....

Anyways I have promised that I would be putting up a music section and links to some media files. I have not done that. Yes I know, I am a terrible blogger, person, musician, promoter.....Whatever.

Anyways to appease some people I have decided to post a couple of links tracks online from my Dynamic Interplay Project. I hope you enjoy them.

Retrograde
A quasi 8bit sounding song using non-8bit gear.

The Space Between our Minds
A simple ambient piece featuring some chopped and looped spoken vocals and feedback effects. The sounds at the beginning might remind you of star trek.

For the Good Old Days
A song written reflecting elements of the classic rave scene from the nineteen nineties, mixed with smooth and sad atmospherics. The purpose is reminisce about how good the music scene was in those days, and how so much has happened to dilute the music to its present state today.

Where is the update?

Well as you can see I have not gotten around to the update of adding the project section yet. I simply have not had time due to school and the common cold.

Fear not I will eventually get to it. I will also add some site feeds as well for those of you into that sort of thing. I am debating if I plan to use only the blogger xml feed known as atom, or if I want to expand and bring rss feeds as well.

If you have an opinion let me know. Send me a message or give me a reply.

New Projects section comming soon.....as well as spur of personal creativity.

Today while watching some fantastic animated movies online, namely >>NINJAI<<, I have had a spur of creativity to again begin my process of writing and animation creation.

Several years ago I experimented in writing a story based around the diary of soldier in an apocolyctic war on Earth. I wrote several entries/episodes at the time but the development of the animation and characters fell through. The episodes that I have written have long since vanished.

I hope over the course of the next year, after the completion of my cds, to re-start the process of developing this story and turning it into a mini-series of sorts.

I don't want to get ahead of myself yet, so just stay tuned while I develop scripts and storylines.

As an update to the site over the next few days I will be adding a "Projects" section to allow all visitors to follow the progresss of my writings, music and animation ventures.

New Photos updated from Metatronic 2 in Chicago

I just posted some photos from a fantastic psytrance/goa party that I attended Saturday April 10th. Check out the "Photos" link to the right.

In other minor news you will notice that I have removed the Poems section and replaced it with a Photos link. I think it is best if I simply place my writings in theRandom Thoughts blog to condense sections a little more. The photos blog will allow me opportunities to post photos of my performances and other various photos that I take.

I am also in the process of updating some links to my music, so bear with me. You all will eventually be able to find out what my music sounds like very soon. In the mean time feel free to check out the "Albums" section to download some tracks from an mp3 netlabel release entiteld Twilight Night

Contact Information added

To the left you will notice that I have added my contact information. Please feel free to contact me for any reason. I particularly like questions about music production. Questions provide the best way to develop information and posts for the Q&A section.

This will also present a fantastic way for anyone to provide me with any information they may feel may benefit the site as well as report any sort of bugs that may exist.

In addition to adding contact information I have tweaked some formatting. Most of it the users wont notice themselves, but it did make the site slightly cleaner.

Slight updates and content added.

Just to let everyone know I have been receiving some great feedback on the site so far. I have fixed some bugs regarding the backgrounds as well as some table formatting issues.

Feel free to check out all of the sections of the site. I have posted some content in all of the sections. The hardware sections has some intresting articles about some new music gear coming out in 2005.

The Livepa section has some basic getting started tutorials regarding Livepa.

I hope to add some more sections later tonight. I hope everyone likes them.
